Social Assistance Distributed to Residents Exposed to COVID-19

The Jakarta Social Agency distributed social assistance in form of 171 staple food packages to COVID-19 patients who were undergoing self-isolation at home.

We will make sure to provide assistance if there are families who are exposed to COVID-19 and self-isolating

Each packages contained of 20 kilograms of rice, 1 carton of instant noodles, 2 liters of cooking oil, 1 can of biscuits, and 7 cans of sardines.

Jakarta Social Agency's Social Security and Protection Division Head, Ika Yuli Rahayu mentioned, social assistance was distributed per families (KK) for one time application.

She explained, residents who confirmed positive COVID-19 could report to the local officials through local RT, RW, and urban village. Later, the officials would be applied for assistance to Jakarta Social Agency.

"We will make sure to provide assistance if there are families who are exposed to COVID-19 and self-isolating," she stated, Wednesday (1/26).

As of today, 19,357 packages had been distributed to residents who undergo self-isolation on January 1-26, 2022 period. Local urban village officers picked up the packages and distributed them to the residents.

"I hope this assistance can lighten the burden of residents who are currently self-isolating and cannot do activities outside," she closed.
